Global stocks advanced as Anthropic PBC’s filing for an initial public offering renewed optimism over the artificial intelligence trade following recent strains. Asian equities rose 0.7%, led by tech shares in South Korea and Japan, after Wall Street benchmarks on Monday snapped a two-day losing streak. The gains, though, lost steam, with Nasdaq 100 futures declining 0.4% and contracts for the S&P 500 Index slipping 0.1%. European stocks were set to drop 0.5% at the open, with HSBC Holdings Plc shares falling more than 6% in Hong Kong after the bank posted earnings that fell short of estimates.
